Cuzco, Peru is 11,024 feet above sea level. It was once the capital of the Inca Empire. Remains of the granite stone walls of the Inca Palace and temples can still be seen, the most remarkable is the Koricancha, or Sun Temple. Of the several churches in Cuzco, the 17th-century La Merced and its monastery San Francisco Belen de los Reyes, Santa Clara and San Blas are the most interesting, representative as they do of a blend of Spanish Colonial and Indian architecture. Overlooking Cuzco is the immense fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Also easily accessible are the Inca sites of Kenko, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay, and the markets of Pisac. 
Lima, PERU is also known as the "City of the Kings" or "Garden City", Lima is the capital of Peru with over 7 million inhabitants. It was founded in 1535 in the Rimac valley by the Spanish conqueror, Francisco Pizarro. The city is very contrasting: beautiful historical buildings with balconies, convents, churches and plazas from the days of the Spaniards are located in the old city center, whereas modern buildings, parks, numerous restaurants, hotels and shopping centers are located in the residential areas of Miraflores, San Isidro, Monterrico, La Molina and others. Lima has several splendid museums, galleries and monuments reeking with history!

  • Day 01 / Cuzco

    • Assistance on arrival to Cuzco and transfer to your selected Hotel. Free time to take a short rest to get acclimatized to the altitude. 
    In the afternoon, sightseeing tour of Cuzco visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha. Then, drive out of the City to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, strategically built on a hill overlooking Cuzco; famous for its enormous carved stones joined with astounding precision to form the outer walls. Some of these stones stand over 9m / 30ft tall, and weight over 350 tons. 0vernight at selected Hotel in Cuzco.
  • Day 02 / Sacred Valley of the Incas.

    • Breakfast. Full day excursion to the "Sacred Valley of the Incas", by the Vilcanota River. We will have the opportunity to share closely the peasants' customs and bargain with vendors at the typical Indian market of Pisac, held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Lunch (not included). After lunch, passing through the Towns of Calca and Urubamba, we visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the Lower jungle. The Fortress consists of a series of stepped carved stone terraces accessed by long staircases. Later on you can walk through the quaint streets of the nearby Town, and get a good idea of what this Strategic Military, Religious, and Agricultural Centre was like during the era of the Inca Empire. On our way back to Cuzco we stop of at the picturesque Andean Village of Chinchero where the ruins of the Royal Hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui lie. You can admire the well preserved Inca Wall in the Main Square, and visit the beautiful Colonial temple built on Inca foundations, with interesting frescoes in the portico.

    Note: The visit to the Village of Chinchero depends on the time available. 
  • Day 03 / Machu Picchu 

    • Breakfast. Early in the morning, transfer to Cuzco Train station for a three hours train ride to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the most renowned examples of Inca architecture, best known as "The Lost City of the Incas", making a stop in Aguas Calientes Station for a 30-minutes then drive climbing a 6km of winding road to reach the marvelous Citadel. Upon arrival, guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (the most important Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of Three Windows and various burial grounds. After the tour you'll have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site in your leisure time. 
    Lunch (not included). After a guided visit to the ruins, you will transferring back to Aguas Calientes for the train ride back to Cuzco. Overnight at selected Hotel in Cuzco.

      • Breakfast.
